There are many different types of computer software and accessories that claim to speed up your computers performance, enhance your system capabilities, and more. Even though most of the time, these pieces of software are gimmicks, TuneUp Utilities proved to be everything it said it would; and more.
The whole process of installing, rebooting, and updating, and rebooting again, took at most about 30 minutes. This isn't too terribly long and who knows, that may be the very reason why my laptop needed a tune-up! The software itself is VERY easy to install, so anyone – the average computer newbie, to the World of Warcraft guru, should have no problem getting it up and running and utilizing it.
The main features I liked about this software were that you were able to create a turbo mode (profile) that made you able to speed your machine up at a click of a button. It is able to do this by telling you what background programs and processes you don't really need, and you can choose what you want turned on and off during turbo mode, to speed up your pc.
Aside from the turbo mode, the next great feature is just the generalized “tune-up.” This software analyzes every bit of your pc or laptop, and then it outlines, shows, and explains to you what can be turned off to increase your system performance, and why. This is especially great because the common newbie may not know exactly what to expect. This software explains it in great, but simple, detail, so anyone can understand what they are about to do in order to gain more performance on their machine.
Have no fear advanced techy guru masters, the makers of this software didn't forget you either! There is a built in “customizable” option so you can go in and customize so much more than average people can do. Be warned though, settings in that section could mess up your computer if you don't know what you are doing, or how to fix them.
Last but not least, the software also runs a small program in the background that monitors how you use your computer, and what you use on it. It detects if any programs are more sluggish than others, and appropriately changes around priorities on your CPU and memory, to make both programs run at optimal speed.
